This course is for youth in Gr 4 (at least 9 years old) interested in exploring staying home alone. Topics include street smarts, people safety (“Tricky People”/safe strangers), online/internet safety, snacking/kitchen safety, fire safety, sibling rivalry, preventing accidents, and basic first aid.

BLS Provider Renewal course is a fast-paced course designed for experienced healthcare providers; covering single-rescuer and multi-rescuer basic life support skills for application in both prehospital and in-facility environments, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics.

This course provides training for cardiovascular emergencies (CPR) for adults, children and infants, and automated external defibrillator (AED) protocols and skills for dealing with obstructed airways (choking). Other topics covered include emergency scene management, severe bleeding and PPE.

This program is offered as a one day in person recertification program. Participants wanting to attend recertification courses must produce a copy of their Intermediate (Standard) First Aid certificate prior to the start of the course and it must be recognized by Alberta Occupational Health & Safety

This program is offered as Blended Learning which consists of the Online Portion and the Skills (In-Person) Portion. You MUST complete the Online Portion before you can gain entrance to the Skills (In-Person) Portion. It is recommended that you spend ~4-8 hours online completing the Online Portion.

Please be mindful that you must complete the online portion of the course (self paced) BEFORE attending the Blended In Person component. You must complete both parts of the program to be eligible for a BLS certificate.

This course is appropriate for parents or anyone working in child care settings (such as a day camp, day home, day care, school, and/or foster home). Learn cardiovascular care for infants and children and basic first aid with an emphasis on childhood injuries/illnesses.
