This course is for youth in Gr 4 (at least 9 years old) interested in exploring staying home alone. Topics include street smarts, people safety (“Tricky People”/safe strangers), online/internet safety, snacking/kitchen safety, fire safety, sibling rivalry, preventing accidents, and basic first aid.

About the Event

We ask that students wear comfortable clothing, including clean footwear. Students are NOT permitted to leave the training centre at breaks or lunch unless written permission has been provided by the parent/guardian. We recommend students bring a water bottle and a bagged lunch. A microwave is available on site. All other necessary materials and equipment will be provided. Students who stay and participate for the full length of their course will also a receive a certificate of attendance. 

COVID 19 Protocols --> Parents/guardians must sign students in/out and must complete a Health Screen form prior to students being admitted. Students must wear a mask when not seated or when social distancing cannot be maintained (ie: skills practice). Regular hand hygiene will be expected throughout the day.

If you are unable to attend your scheduled Home Alone Safety for Kids workshop, please provide a minimum of 24 hours notice to avoid a $25 (plus GST) rescheduling fee.
