About the Event
According to the Global First Aid Reference Centre, "World First Aid Day has been celebrated every year on the second Saturday of September since 2003. Its purpose is to remind people that first aid is a vital skill, accessible to everyone and essential for saving lives around the world. Knowing basic first aid techniques helps reduce suffering and the severity of injuries, improves preparedness for disasters, and enables more effective responses in emergency situations."
