This 6 hour training course provides participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to use cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in life threatening situations. It provides training for emergency scene management, including legal requirements that relate to workplace first aid in Alberta, cardiovascular and breathing emergencies that require cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults/children/infants (Level C), and the benefits of automated external defibrillators (AEDs).
Basic Life Support
(for Health Care) Providers CPR
$90 per person (plus GST)This 4 hour course is taught by qualified Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada instructors and is recommended for those who work or study as health care providers (ie: nursing, medicine, dentistry, chiropractic, rehabilitation, etc . . . ). It provides training in one and two rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children and infants, as well as includes automated external defibrillator (AED) protocols and skills for dealing with obstructed airways (choking). Students learn how to recognize the signs/symptoms of heart attack and stroke as well as how to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disorders. This training course also includes advanced airway management and practice with a bag valve mask.
